Real Estate Background:

Katie bought her first home at 23. Katie was a proud home owner and owning at such a young age made her feel like she was getting ahead of those renting. Katie thought, in 25 years, she would be mortgage free! Katie is passionate about real estate and believes it is one of the greatest investments a person can make. She wanted to help others buy their first home and teach others about investing. Katie became a Sales Representative in 2009.  

Katie works with a variety of clients.  She has sold many homes in the Ottawa area as well as works with Buyers and Investors. Katie owns numerous income properties in Ottawa and has done numerous full renovations top to bottom doing most of the work herself. Katie especially enjoys designing new layouts of homes, removing interior walls, and building fabulous chef's kitchens. Katie manages all of her own properties and can share her wealth of real estate knowledge with you.

She uses current market information to drive her negotiations and always makes sure her clients get a fair price. Katie is a very hard worker and will always go the extra mile to help you out. Katie will make sure you get the attention and care you need and deserve as buying or selling a home is one of the biggest decisions of someone's life! 

 

Personal Background:

Katie was a gifted athlete and had the honour of representing her country in 2 sports. She was a part of the U-19 Women's National soccer team player pool; however she had a career ending ankle injury in 2001. She continued with hockey and was selected as part of the prestigious Under-22 National team in 2003 and 2004, Katie helped Canada win gold both years at the Air Canada Cup held in Germany. 

Katie continued to progress and became a member of the women’s national team in 2004.  She has won gold medals at three Four Nations Cup tournaments (2004, 2005, & 2007), as well as a gold medal at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy. At the Olympic tournament, Katie tallied 4 goals and 1 assist, the most notable point being the game winning goal in the semi-final victory over Finland. She has also won a gold medal at the 2007 World Championships, which was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2008, Katie travelled to Harbin, China where she won a silver medal in the World Championships.  On January 3 rd, 2010 Katie had the honor of carrying the Olympic Torch in her hometown of Thunder Bay.

In 2007, Katie graduated from Dartmouth College, an Ivy League Institution in Hanover, N.H. In her four years at Dartmouth, Katie earned a B.A. in Psychology and is a certified elementary teacher. Katie is also the owner and head instructor of the Katie Weatherston Hockey School, an all-girls hockey school which she founded in 2005.

Katie has also been a motivational speaker in over 600 schools across Canada and has also been the keynote speaker at various events.  

Katie loves working with children and enjoys spending her free time coaching, visiting her 4 nieces and family in Thunder Bay, and volunteering on her partner's animal sanctuary.
