Olympic Gold Medalist & World Champion, Katie Weatherston, offers player and coach development sessions throughout the hockey season, as well as individual and small group skill sessions and summer hockey camps. Katie offers players and coaches the tools needed to improve skills and raise awareness of opportunities available to both girls and boys through sport. Katie's focus is on making individual skill corrections and teaching proper progression so players are able to learn a skill more effectively and you will see noticeable improvements. Katie is a certified elementary school teacher and her passion for hockey and expertise will help any program or player make improvements.
Summer Hockey Camps:
Founded in 2005, our goal is to offer players and goalies a well-organized, fun, and educational camp at an affordable cost. On-ice sessions will have a maximum of 24 players + 2 goalies. Katie leads lane skating at the start of each session for approximately 30 minutes, then players work in 4 stations x 6 skaters per group. Goalies work 2 on 1 with their goalie coach during stations. Our instructors make a lot of 1 on 1 corrections which are essential to improve participants level of skill. Each session is geared towards individual instruction and each player is coached/pushed at their skill level. Sessions are open to all players who can skate at the level needed prior to starting hockey (must be able to skate forwards and stop one way). Our 1.5 hour sessions focus on teaching individual technique: Forwards/backwards stride, edges, change of speed, stops, starts, crossovers, agility skating, shooting, stick handling, passing, puck protection.
